Proteksan Turquoise Yachts occupies a corner of the hectic commercial dockland southeast of Istanbul in the city's sprawling sub-district of Pendik on the northern shore of the Gulf of Izmit. The Turkish shipyard has successfully maintained a target of launching dlfee new yachts each year and the latest project, Vinyd,'ea, left the yard in the second week of August, bound for Italy after a 33-mond1 build programme d1at began in December 2005.
This 53 metre trawler yacht is a scaled-up version of the owner's previous boat, the 39.5 metre Vinidrea lJ, also built by Proteksan Turquoise, but he includes a variety of innovative, prototype features while retaining the intriguing, ingle side deck, assymetric layout of the earlier yacht's main deck.
